A high efficiency, compact motor using the copper motor rotor technology has just been launched by ICA Korea.
Showcased at the ‘Global Electric Power Tech 2016’ expo in Seoul in May, the new motor is able to improve the energy efficiency and reliability of industrial induction engines without increasing their frame size, an important advantage for industry.
The new motors are around 2.5% more energy efficient than similar same-frame sized Aluminum rotor motors and don’t require businesses to make any space changes to accommodate them.
The new motors-developed by ICA Korea in partnership with local companies EJ Motor and CASTMAN-are not only energy smart and lighter, but dramatically reduce internal heat, last longer, reduce the size of the cooling fan, are less noisy and require less maintenance.
The motor’s longevity is also helped by the resistance to corrosion of the copper motor components, while greater reliability is achieved by implementing low SLIP where frequent operational start and stop repeats are required.
