The benefits of copper range widely; from renewable energy and energy access to climate-change mitigation and adaptation, many of the global trends driving the sustainable-development agenda rely on copper and its unique properties.

At its highest level, sustainable development is at the core of the work of the International Copper Association (ICA). No other metal or material connects so broadly and critically with global sustainable-development objectives. A major benefit of copper is infinitely recyclable; it can be recycled over and over again without loss of any of its inherent properties. Copper is critical to the circular economy and contributes to stronger life-cycle analyses of end-use products containing it. Other materials are consumed or downcycled at end of life.

The list of copper benefits is long, and the ICA is proud to give more insight into them. The benefits of copper will provide a greener, healthier and more sustainable future.
