South Australia’s Copper to the World returns on 31 August, showcasing the state’s key mining initiatives alongside the latest developments on industry sustainability and innovation.

Presented live at the Adelaide Convention Centre and simultaneously live-streamed to viewers around the world, the conference will once again offer expert insight on all the issues facing copper mining.

Key speakers include Bloomberg Intelligence’s Senior Analyst for Metals & Mining, Yi Zhu, Georgina Hallet, Chief of Staff at the London Metal Exchange, Flavia Tata Nardini of Fleet Space Technologies, and Harrison Mitchell of RCS Global Group.

Also being launched at the conference is the latest report from Australia’s groundbreaking Zero Emission Copper Mine of the Future project. This year’s roadmap explores the role of Water in sustainable mining, with a deep dive into crucial areas like desalination or dewatering matched to current and emerging technologies.

Last year’s event participant poll showed nearly two thirds (65%) of members were keen to look more closely at innovation and sustainability issues in contemporary mining.

“In a world tackling decarbonisation to avert the worst impacts of climate change, it remains a key business, performance and technological challenge for copper mining,” John Fennell, CEO of the International Copper Association Australia—also speaking at the conference—said.
